Country Lifestyle – Our Family Farm
Your host-family Pfaffenberger live here at the Hagerhof farm:
Augustin Pfaffenberger jun. & partner Magdalena
Augustin Pfaffenberger sen. & wife Annemarie Pfaffenberger
Our housekeeper Susanne and our employees are also here for you, should you need anything.
The Hagerhof was first mentioned in 1384 and has been in family hands since 1580. We've been offering vacations on our farm since the 1930s. Back then, countryside holidays were referred to as "Sommerfrische" (Summer Health Resort).
The "Hagerhof-Feeling"
A family who has been spending their summer holidays at the Hagerhof every year since 2008 wrote:
From the moment we first saw the website, we thought: Wow, what a beautiful home! Mediterranean flair by the Chiemsee with architecture that’s detail oriented and lovingly decorated. We were fascinated by the Hagerhof atmosphere right away.
We already knew the area and so we knew that, in front of the Hagerhof doorstep, there was no big city life. Wonderful! Instead, there is pretty much everything a family with very small children, with teenagers and, maybe later, with grown children or even couples will enjoy: quiet, peacefulness, wilderness, clean air and a whole lot of things to discover.
The hill close by is perfect for a morning or evening stroll with the children. Mom and Dad can also take off on separately. One of them takes the children on a walk through the woods into Eggstätt, the other follows in the car and they all meet up for an adventure by the Chiemsee or in the mountains (!).
In Seebruck, there’s a Roman museum, in Truchtlaching there’s the Castle Stöffling and the area is full of trails suitable for walks or hikes with a stroller. Older children might find a raft tour on the Alz or a visit to the Mammutheum by Scharam to be a fun adventure.
But you can also just “chill” at the Hagerhof, as the kids say, and drive around in one of the Kettcars or sit in the sun to simply enjoy life. The buildings of the Hagerhof, the interior, the ritual of ordering bread rolls every night for the following day, the cats, the chickens, some small talk by the garden fence and the barn filled with hay (for jumping into, of course) gives everyone enough reason to enjoy life as it is.
It should also be noted that the Hagerhof radiates something that has enchanted us for many years and that we’ve only recently been able to put a name to: a sort of down-to-earth and discreet spirituality. The Pfaffenbergers accept people as they are and share the beauty of their home with their guests. Those who allow themselves to engage will enjoy a very special holiday. Our kids call it the Hagerhof Feeling :-)
