Children Love Animals
Our cats love to be stroked by gentle little visitors. Not only them, but our bunnies and guinea pigs also delight at some loving attention. Our chickens and proud rooster are continuously scratching and picking at the ground for seeds, worms and other little creatures.
Constantly in motion, watching our chickens can be pretty funny at times, but it is certainly relaxing. Collect freshly laid eggs from the chicken coop and gently place them in an egg basket. If you are there early enough, the eggs are so fresh they are still a little warm!
Every morning at 8:00 a.m. as well as at 6:00 p.m. in the evenings farmer Augustin does the rounds to feed all the resident animals at the Hagerhof. See what kind of food the animals eat and stroke the guinea pigs and rabbits. The chickens are let out of their coop and are fed. Maybe you would enjoy letting them out?
Visit the cows and calves, feed the sheep with some hay, and let's not forget about the cute little ponies! The little stars are very popular with our young guests. Stroke & help us groom them, see how we clean their hooves, and join us in taking them to their paddock. Learn all about caring for animals and even help us muck out their stables. After all, the best way to show animals your love is by taking excellent care of them.
Attentive visitors may see a squirrel scamper across the yard or notice little hedgehogs roaming about in the evenings. Simply sit back & relax while listening to the charming songs of the many songbirds here at the Hagerhof farm.
